Keep Going

I have been ‘crisis free’ for nearly a month now, but I have found it really tough to keep going with my recovery for the past couple of days.

Afterall, it’s much easier to give up. I was lying in bed this morning, feeling defeated and overwhelmed by negative emotions. In my despair I reached out to Abba and said, ‘what should I do?’. I felt Him gently say, ‘just do everything on your recovery list’. I got to it straight away. The first item on my list is morning coffee with Abba. So I reached for my Bible. I prayed that I’d land on what He wants to say to me today.

I was interested by what I read, which was:

But as for you, continue in what you have learned and have become convinced of, because you know those from who you learned it, and how from infancy you have known the holy Scriptures, which are able to make you wise for salvation through faith in Christ Jesus. (2 Timothy 3:14-15 NIV)

That’s truth and comfort and grounds for keeping going in my recovery. Thank you Abba.
