Come and listen, all you who fear God; let me tell you what he has done for me. I cried out to him with my mouth; his praise was on my tongue. If I had cherished sin in my heart, the Lord would not have listened; but God has surely listened and heard my voice in prayer. Praise be to God, who has not rejected my prayer or withheld his love from me! (Psalm 66:16-20 NIV)
Rejection is a big deal, isn’t it?
Rejection is a big deal to me. I suppose it’s universal, but I’m told that abandonment/rejection – perceived or real – is a huge problem for those who suffer from BPD/EUPD (Borderline Personality Disorder/Emotionally Unstable Personality Disorder), which I have recently been diagnosed with. It’s comforting, therefore, to be assured – over and over again – of Abba’s commitment to not abandon or reject us, but rather to move in closer with agape love and compassion.
I think I will create a visual reminder of that truth to stick up on my ‘wall of recovery’, because I need to remember it everyday.
Bye for now! Shalom.
