Complexity: The Puzzle of Discipleship

Book Cover

Do you ever feel that the church has made discipleship complicated? If, like me, you do let’s unpack some of the complexity together. Let’s explore topics such as acceptance, forgiveness, sexuality, love, and inclusion. Let’s pray together and build each other up as disciples of Jesus so that we can more confidently carry out the Lord’s commission to make/grow disciples. ‘The Great Commission. Then the eleven disciples went to Galilee, to the mountain where Jesus had told them to go. When they saw him, they worshipped him; but some doubted. Then Jesus came to them and said, “All authority in heaven and on earth has been given to me. Therefore go and make disciples of all nations, baptising them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, and teaching them to obey everything I have commanded you. And surely I am with you always, to the very end of the age.”’ (Matthew 28:16-20 NIV)

This topic-based course (Coming Soon) offers ways that we can build our own clarity on tough topics facing the church and Christians today. We can work through content at our own pace and ask each other questions and support each other. It’s all about you. I have written the content with you in mind. I write thoughtfully about the topics listed after doing research and experiencing the topics covered in my own life, and have prepared lots of ways to help us as we figure out how to grow as disciples. This doesn’t replace the Bible – the Bible is still the most important book in the world. But rather, like lots of other discipleship courses, it has been created to aid us on our lifelong journeys as  disciples. I don’t consider myself to be an expert, but rather a generalist in Christian discipleship.

Each unit has it’s own content, suggested further reading, resources, and tasks (don’t worry, there’s not too much to do). You can work through as much as you want and take it at your own pace. You can view the units further down this page….
